Cannot pair to Bluetooth

Isaiah Davis Dec 25, 2012 09:27PM CST

When I first plugged in the Sound Platform and selected Bluetooth, the light flashed randomly but would not pair. I did not have to select "pair" it just instantly started flashing.

After unplugging the device the light stopped flashing however pressing the pair button does not do anything, the light just remains steady.

I have tried all troubleshooting suggestions posted with no results. Please advise on a solution.

Thanks

Thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing pairing issues. Is this a recent issue and the unit used to pair in the past? If the light is not flashing when you press Pair, please try reinserting the Bluetooth cartridge: http://www.soundfreaq.com/FAQRetrieve.aspx?ID=52500&Q=

If that does not resolve the issue, please contact us privately via the support form and we will start the replacement process. Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

I had the same trouble trying to pair it with a MacBook. It needed the "pass code" put in. Factory default is 1234. Once I did that it paired right up

Rose,

Thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer. I'm sorry to hear you are having problems connecting your iOS device to your Soundfreaq. Please let us know which model Soundfreaq you own, please check the bottom of the speaker for the model number. Does the indicator light on the front of the unit blink rapidly when you press Pair?

To better troubleshoot your problem, could you please tell me where in the pairing process you are having issues?
Press the 'POWER' button to turn on your Soundfreaq unit. The indicator light will illuminate.
Select Bluetooth using the 'SOURCE' button on your Soundfreaq. (Except the Sound Kick model--there is no 'SOURCE' button, the source is automatically set.)
Press the 'PAIR' button on your Soundfreaq unit to put it into pairing mode. The indicator light will blink rapidly. If you hold the 'PAIR' button, the pairing process will be cancelled. (Please make sure that your Soundfreaq unit is in "Bluetooth" mode when your press 'PAIR'.)
While your Soundfreaq is in pairing mode, select Settings > General > Bluetooth on your iOS device. Make sure that Bluetooth is on and that the two devices are within a 33' (10m) range.
Once your iOS device detects Soundfreaq and displays its name, select it from the list, and the status will turn from Not Paired to Connected.
Once you press Pair and the light on the dock begins blinking rapidly, do you see Soundfreaq under Settings on your iOS device? If so, please select it to begin music playback. Please let me know if the issue persists so we can figure out how to get you up and playing. Thanks for your patience.

Steve, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and yes, under Bluetooth > Devices, it should say "Sound Platform" and not Soundfreaq depending on which model you own. Could you please let us know what the status says? Is it "Not Paired" or "Not Connected"? If so, please try selecting it to begin music playback. Please let us know if that helps.
