Rich, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and I'm sorry to hear the Kick is shutting off by itself. For troubleshooting records, how long have you owned the speaker before the issue started occurring? Please try this troubleshooting step as a workaround as we are investigating the root of this issue.
Is your connected smart device volume set low, as in below 25%? If so, please try turning up the volume on the smart device and turning down the volume on the Kick to maintain a comfortable listening volume. Please let me know if that solves the issue.
