Deborah, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing volume issues with the Soundfreaq. Please let us know which model Soundfreaq you own by checking the bottom of the speaker.
The master device (Samsung in this case) should not affect the volume of the music. When you max out the volume on the Samsung as well as the Soundfreaq speaker, is the audio inaudible?
If so, please try resetting the Bluetooth connection by removing "Soundfreaq" from Bluetooth > Devices on the Samsung, before re-pairing from the beginning.
Please also try pairing the speaker with other master devices to see if the issue persists.
