Bluetooth pairing

Teodora Dec 28, 2015 07:56AM CST

Hello!

I just purchased a Soundfreaq speaker but I am unable to pair it to any device via Bluetooth. I made sure the bluetooth was on, and I pressed the 'Pair' button of the speaker yet it was not recognized. When pressing the button, the light flashes for a few seconds, then it remains still and no device can identify the speaker (I tried with multiple devices.

Thank you!

Teodora, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing pairing issues new out of box. Please let us know which model Soundfreaq you own by checking the bottom of the speaker.

The indicator light should keep blinking until you select "Soundfreaq" under Bluetooth > Devices on your smart device. It sounds like "Soundfreaq" never appears.

Based on your description, we recommend replacing the speaker all together. If you purchased it in store, we recommend exchanging it directly with the retailer for the fastest turnaround time. If that is not possible, please email us at support@soundfreaq.com and we'll set up an exchange via mail under our one year warranty.

Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for the inconvenience. Any questions, please let us know.

Valentin, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and yes, if your laptop comes with A2DP Bluetooth installed, then you will be able to pair with any Bluetooth speaker.

Any other questions, please let us know.

Harry,

Thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and please try the default pin code, 1234, for the PC.

In regards to the PS3, unfortunately the PS3 is not A2DP compatible. While the PS3 does have Bluetooth to connect to other devices such as keyboards, remotes, controllers, and headsets, it does not support the standard A2DP stereo audio protocol to connect to speakers to play the audio from games and video. It's not clear why Sony has not enabled A2DP, but there are many blogs and posts by PS3 customers online requesting an update.

We suggest connecting the Soundfreaq directly to the TV or monitor the PS3 is hooked up to.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.
