david merrill Aug 02, 2013 07:09PM CDT

why does my soundkick refuse to pair with my mac book?
The device is recognized and comes up on the Bluetooth Setup Assistant list but when I press continue the message reads:
THE PAIRING ATTEMPT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE DEVICE IS REFUSING THE PAIRING ATTEMPT
What am I doing wrong? Thanks, Dave.

David, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and are you able to pair the Sound Kick with another device, such as a smartphone or tablet? I'm sorry to hear you are having Bluetooth connectivity issues with your Mac, please try connecting with a passcode, 1234.

Bluetooth profile for A2DP is supported on Mac OS 10.5 or newer. Here is a possible solution to fix Bluetooth pairing on your Mac:

- Open Bluetooth from System Preferences.
- When attempting to pair with you Soundfreaq, select Passcode Options on the Bluetooth Setup Assistant dialog. Select "Use a Specific Passcode" and fill in the default code, 1234.

Here are some screen captures of the process for another Bluetooth device: http://www.autopano.net/wiki-en/action/view/Panogear_-_Installation#Under_Mac

For some users who are unable to access the Passcode Options in the Bluetooth Setup Assistant: Pair the speakers first, then open Bluetooth Preferences. Select Soundfreaq from the list, click Advanced Options, then click on the key icon to enter a passcode.

Please let me know if that works. Thank you for your patience, and I apologize for the inconvenience.
