Windows 10

Vaughn Aug 10, 2015 05:52PM CDT

Since I updated to Windows 10, I can't get my speaker to link up with Bluetooth. I uninstalled and tried to to get my computer to recognize the speaker, but it can't.

Vaughn, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing pairing issues with the new Win 10. Do you see "Soundfreaq" under Bluetooth > Devices on the computer, or does the computer not find a speaker at all when it is scanning? Are you still able to pair other smart devices with the Soundfreaq? This is to verify that it isn't an issue with the speaker itself.

Unfortunately, we don't have a large support knowledge base for Win 10. We recommend contacting your computer's manufacturer directly, by visiting their website to download the latest driver. If a computer is unable to pair with a Bluetooth speaker, it is usually a driver issue. There isn't a driver required from the Bluetooth device side, but rather the computer side.

Please let us know if you are able to find a resolution. I apologize I could not be of more help.

Any other questions, please let us know.

Jennifer, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and are you also trying to connect with Win 10?

If the indicator light is not blinking on the speaker when you press Pair, that may be a different issue not related to the PC.

Please let us know which model Soundfreaq you own by checking the bottom of the speaker.

Please make sure Bluetooth is off on all external devices such as a smartphone or tablet, to make sure the speaker isn't trying to connect with the last connected smart device.

If the Pair light does not blink when you tap it, please try holding it down to reset Bluetooth.

Thank you for taking the time to troubleshoot with us, and any other questions, please let us know.

Windows 10 issue - Having the same problem not being able to connect after upgrading to Win10. Pairing light blinks on the Soundplatform and the PC can see the device but times out when trying to pair the device and it cannot recognize it.

I saw the answer above but is there a solution that is easier to follow for the less PC saavy? There are a ton of drivers and difficult to determine which one is correct.

Glenn, thank you for being a Soundfreaq customer, and I'm sorry to hear you are also experiencing pairing issues with Win10.

Unfortunately, we don't have an easier solution with the PC, since as you can imagine there isn't a standard Bluetooth module installed in all PCs. Each computer make comes with its own hardware and driver.

We recommend contacting your computer's make directly for support from their end, as they'll have a better idea on how to connect via Bluetooth. There isn't a driver required from the Bluetooth speaker's end, you should be able to use it immediately upon unboxing.

If there is an option to enter a passcode on the PC, please try entering the default code 1234 when pairing with the Soundfreaq.

Lastly, please also try pairing the Soundfreaq with another smart device, such as a smartphone or tablet, to see if the issue persists. This is to verify that there isn't a defect with the speaker itself.

Please let us know if you are able to find a solution, or if you have any other questions.

Michael, thank you for taking the time to write, and I'm sorry to hear you're also experiencing pairing issues with the Windows 10. As some users report success pairing with Windows 10, we believe this is most likely a Windows incompatibility issue.

Please be aware other OS often times experience the same Bluetooth connection issues. This includes new iOS updates, as well as incompatibility with certain Android hardware due to Android fragmentation. Unfortunately, we are unable to fix all issues as we provide the slave A2DP Bluetooth device only.

If you are able to find a different Bluetooth speaker that pairs with the PC, please do let us know, and we certainly understand your preference to go with another brand.

I apologize I could not be of more help. Any other questions, please let us know.
